India: 7-days surrounded by beauty in 2010
In 2005 I had the opportunity to inaugurate a new yoga retreat at Basunti, an idyllic retreat in northern India with commanding views of the Himalayas.
I have subsequently led week-long retreats at Basunti each autumn. An account of the most recent retreat and why I love to teach at Basunti was published recently in Yoga & Health magazine.
In 2010 with Michal Havkin we will be teaching in the beauty of Basunti for a 7-day retreat from September 23rd-September 30th. There are more details and photos about Basunti at its website www.basunti.com. For detailed information on my next retreat at Basunti, including prices and schedule please email yoga@basunti.com.
Basunti is situated at the heart of a designated wildlife reserve and the accommodation has been developed sympathetically in accord with the local environment. The area around Basunti is perfect for peaceful walks, birdwatching, swimming and canoeing. The climate is perfect for yoga in autumn, winter and spring. The roof of the main house with its commanding 360° views makes it a perfect place to practice gentle sun salutes on a hazy, warm autumn morning.
The purpose-built yoga centre with its thatched Balinese-style roof stays cools on the hottest of days. Sunlight dipping down over the lake provides a golden glow for our gentle, cooling evening sessions. If you are interested in joining us in 2010 please get in touch with .
